Here at the farm, we believe in creating and inspiring lasting relationships between our participants and nature. By cultivating child-led learning in a natural setting, we aim to educate the whole child which includes their physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs. 

Our beautiful 4-acre farm in Wake Forest, North Carolina provides an abundant resource for children to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace; while also giving them the space to ground themselves with the roots they need to live intentional lives.

Nature-Based Play

We integrate traditional subjects with experiential learning for a well-rounded, engaging, and relevant education; utilizing inspiration from the land around us as well as the cyclical seasons.

 

Hands-On Farming Experience

We involve children in sustainable farming activities such as egg gathering, animal tending and various other farm chores that help teach responsibility, teamwork, and practical agricultural skills.

 

Community Engagement

Frequently Asked Questions

What age groups do you serve?

We currently serve children ages 3-6 for our Preschool/PreK program,  and are now enrolling children in grades K-3rd grade for our Homeschool Program.

How can I enroll my child?

You can enroll your child by contacting us through our website, and visiting our farm school for more information. All  potential  families are required to come explore the farm, meet with our team and see for yourself the magic our space has to offer before finishing the enrollment process.

What do you do when there is inclement weather?

At Free Spirit Farm, we believe there is no such thing as bad weather-just poor choice in clothing! Upon registering, each family will receive recommendations for tried and true kid-friendly outdoor gear to help keep your child warm/cool, dry and happy throughout the changing seasons. In addition, we may have gently used clothing and gear available for any families to use. Lastly, we do have an indoor classroom space we will utilize during any weather we deem to be unsuitable or unsafe, or whenever we feel so inclined to use it!
